Jamaica’s automotive sector marked another moment of growth with the groundbreaking of the new Great Wall Motors (GWM) showroom, cementing the brand’s growing presence since its 2020 debut.
Jacqueline Stewart Lechler, Managing Director of Stewart’s Automotive Group, expressed her pride in the company’s continued dedication to innovation and customer satisfaction.

The state-of-the-art facility, once completed, will not only showcase the latest vehicles from Great Wall Motors but will also provide an elevated level of customer service and after-sales support, the brand said in a press release.
In his address, Daryl Vaz, Minister of Science, Energy, Telecommunications, and Transport, underscored the national importance of the GWM project.
“This is a major step forward in Jamaica’s vision to modernise its transportation sector. We are excited to see Stewart’s Automotive Group lead the way in bringing affordable, high-quality vehicles to our shores. Their entry into the Chinese automotive market with Great Wall Motors is a bold move that aligns with the global shift toward innovative mobility solutions,” he said. “Stewart’s Automotive Group has always been a pioneer in the automotive space, and now they are advancing the future of vehicles for Jamaicans.”
